Rental Policy

 

Terms and Conditions
Customers are urged to reserve equipment as early as possible to ensure getting the equipment that you will need. All equipment is rented on a first come first served basis

Any problems with equipment must be reported immediately to Midwest Photo for adjustment consideration. It is the responsibility of the renter to have sufficient knowledge and experience to operate the equipment. While our staff is always available to answer questions, we cannot assume liability for the renter’s inability to correctly operate the equipment. The person renting this equipment accepts the equipment described and states that it was in good condition at the time received. The renter agrees to pay the rental fee for the period the equipment is used and further agrees to return the equipment in good condition at the end of the rental period. The renter also agrees to pay for any damages to or loss of the rented equipment occurring during the rental period. Repairs will be charged at the current rates. A full day’s rental shall be charged even for a partial days use. The renter agrees to pay the regular rental rate for each day that the equipment is in their possession or until it is returned. The renter will also pay Midwest Photo for any charges incurred to recover equipment that is not returned by the specified time due. In the event the rental is not returned 7 days after the due date, the item will be considered stolen and the customers credit card will be charged for the full retail amount of the item. If the overdue charges are denied by the renters credit card, and the renter has not contacted Midwest Photo to make immediate payment of the overdue rental. Midwest reserves the right to pursue all civil and criminal remedies in the case of unreturned or lost equipment. Midwest Photo retains title to the equipment and the right to end the lease and take possession of the equipment if it is not returned on request. Midwest Photo assumes no responsibility for damage or loss to film materials, images or other liability of any kind resulting from use of the equipment. Renters must be 18 years or older.

Rental Day

Rentals are based on a 24-hour period. Rentals picked up after 3:00pm are due back by 2:00pm two days later for a one day charge. Returns after the specified due time are subject to an additional days charge. If being shipped, the rental begins when we ship it and ends when it is received at our store.


Weekend Rentals

Rentals picked up on Friday between 10:00am and 7:00pm, are due back the next Monday by 2:00pm. Rental charge is one day.


Long Term Rentals

A seven-day rental is billed as three days, monthly rentals are three times the weekly rate.


Insurance and deposit

The customer is fully responsible for any loss or damage due to negligence, theft, improper installation and/or operation of all rented equipment. A deposit for the full replacement cost of the equipment is required at time of pick-up. Acceptable forms of deposit are cash and major credit card. Checks will not be accepted for deposit. Proof of adequate insurance coverage for the full replacement value of the equipment may be required prior to rental based on equipment of high value. A certificate of insurance will be required in these cases.


Cancellations

Please call us if you have a cancellation. Last minute cancellations may incur a fee.


Rental Credit

If you choose to purchase an item you have rented from our rental department, the following applies to the purchase of the same equipment: Up to one rental charge can be applied to the purchase of the same equipment, that is new stock, within 10 days from the rental return.
