Nikon Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct Lens Nikon Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct Lens
Nikon Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct Lens
The fastest NIKKOR lens ever.
Introducing the much anticipated flagship of the NIKKOR Z line-up, a one-of-a-kind manual focus 58mm lens with the largest aperture of any NIKKOR ever: f/0.95. Made possible by innovations of the Z mount, it achieves a new dimension of performance—vast depth-of-field control and elaborate bokeh for portraiture and video, superb point-image reproduction and low-light performance for night landscapes and astrophotography, outstanding resolving power for industrial and scientific applications—all in an immaculately constructed lens with precision feel and brilliant operability. Inspired by legacy. Built for the future. This is a masterpiece only Nikon could create.

Imagine the possibilities.
Noct is a specialized lens that delivers the ultimate in fine details, sharpness, bokeh and point-light rendering.

NIKKOR quality at its absolute best.
At the top of the ever-expanding NIKKOR Z lens lineup, S-Line lenses push Nikon’s tradition of optical excellence and innovation to unprecedented new heights. Superior performance and resolution. Sophisticated features and operability. Specialized technologies and reliability enhancements. All while taking full advantage of the monumental Nikon Z mount and adhering to the strictest image quality and build standards.

Hyper-Real Resolution
Noct renders fine details with such precision, such unwavering sharpness across the entire frame, stills and videos take on an almost hyper-real characteristic.

f/0.95 Aperture
Noct is designed to be shot wide open. Noct achieves outstanding resolving power from the maximum aperture by intensively compensating the various aberrations that are usually noticeable with fast lenses. Shine through low light and control depth of field like never before.

Precision Manual Focusing
Let your creativity flow through your fingertips. Compose with pinpoint accuracy using one of the finest manual focusing mechanisms ever put into a NIKKOR lens; and utilize the clarity of Z series cameras' focus peaking.

Explore the depths of your world.
Nikon engineers have achieved optimum continuity of bokeh with Noct. But it's not just the bokeh that's so impressive—it's the ideal smooth transition from the tack-sharp focal plane to the beautifully blurred background. Even when your subject-background distance is inadequate, Noct produces stunning depth and emphasis.

Superb point-image reproduction for night landscapes and astrophotography.
Shooting point light sources like stars and nighttime cityscapes at wide apertures usually requires post-production correction for sagittal comma—an aberration where points of light appear distorted, like birds spreading their wings. Noct intensively eliminates sagittal comma across the entire frame, so point light sources are captured as perfect points of light, even at the peripheries.

Maximum Antireflection
When subjects are backlit, incidental light can streak across the frame causing unwanted ghosting, reflections and flaring. To counteract these anomalies and ensure crisp, clean images, Noct employs two of Nikon’s most advanced lens coatings: Nano Crystal Coat for eliminating incidental light from a diagonal direction and new ARNEO Coat for eliminating incidental light from a vertical direction.

Ground Aspherical Lenses
Noct adopts a large-diameter ground aspherical lens element crafted from the finest glass, with outstanding surface accuracy. It has a high refractive index unattainable with molded-glass.

Dirt and Grime Resistance
Nikon's proprietary dust, dirt and moisture repellent Fluorine Coat provides enhanced antifouling performance. Noct is ready for the harshest conditions.

Electromagnetic Diaphragm
Provides accurate diaphragm control in-sync with the fastest shutter speeds for clear, even exposures during continuous shooting.

Lens Information Panel
A built-in OLED information panel offers quick, convenient confirmation of aperture, focus distance and depth-of-field, even in dark situations. An expandable depth-of-field scale helps you determine the minimum and maximum distances at any given f/stop—excellent for maximizing hyperfocal distance for stills or video.

Case Included
The NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct lens comes complete with the custom Trunk Case CT-101 and HN-38 Hood.

ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) Glass
An optical glass developed by Nikon that is used with normal optical glass in telephoto lenses to obtain optimum correction of chromatic aberrations.

Aspherical Lens
A lens with a curved, non-spherical surface. Used to reduce aberrations and enable a more compact lens size. Aspherical lenses minimize coma and other types of lens aberrations, even when used at the widest aperture. They are particularly useful in correcting distortion in wide-angle lenses and help contribute to a lighter, more compact design by reducing the number of standard (spherical) elements necessary. Aspherical lens elements correct these distortions by continuously changing the refractive index from the center of the lens.

ARNEO Coat
An anti-reflective coating developed by Nikon and used in conjunction with Nano Crystal Coat to further reduce ghost and flair effects caused by incident light entering the lens vertically. This allows for the outstandingly clear capture of images even when a light source is located within the frame.

Nano Crystal Coat
An anti-reflective coating developed by Nikon that virtually eliminates internal lens element reflections across a wide range of wavelengths. Nano Crystal Coat solves ghost effects caused by red light and effectively reduces ghost and flare caused by light entering the lens diagonally.

Electromagnetic Diaphragm Mechanism
An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism in the lens barrel provides highly accurate electronic diaphragm or aperture blade control when using auto exposure during continuous shooting. With conventional D/G type lenses, the diaphragm blades are operated by mechanical linkage levers.

Fluorine Coat
Photographers need gear that can withstand the elements. Nikon’s fluorine coat effectively repels dust, water droplets, grease or dirt, ensuring easy removal even when they adhere to the lens surface. Nikon’s fluorine coat endures a high frequency of lens surface wiping and its anti-reflective effect also contributes to the capture of clear images.

Super Integrated Coating
Nikon Super Integrated Coating is Nikon's term for its multilayer coating of the optical elements in NIKKOR lenses.

CA Proposition 65

Attention to all California residents, Proposition 65 or officially known as, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a law that requires warnings be provided to California consumers when they might be exposed to chemicals identified by California as causing cancer or reproductive toxicity. The warnings are intended to help California consumers make informed decisions about their exposures to these chemicals from the products they use. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) administers the Proposition 65 program and publishes the listed chemicals, which includes more than 850 chemicals. August 2016, OEHHA adopted new regulations, to go into effect on August 30, 2018, which changes the information that is required in or on Proposition 65 warnings.

We want you to know and be aware of our product safety and Midwest Photo is taking all of the necessary steps to comply with the applicable safety and health requirements made by this Proposition 65.

WARNING: This product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

This disclaimer can be found on the product pages on our website under the Additional Information tab which appears below the product description. It is listed on all product pages to ensure that our customer is aware of the warnings put out by our suppliers so you can know the precautions before purchasing.
