Hoya Pro ND100000 77mm Solar Eclipse Filter

The Hoya PRO ND100000 filter is a 16 3/5 stop neutral density filter designed for multiple photographic applications including very long exposures, solar photography, and solar eclipses. This is a ultra-dark filter with a "filter factor" of 100,000 meaning it only passes 1/100,000 of the light that enters the filter. That translates to a light reduction of just over 16.5 stops. This is necessary due to the sun’s intensity even during a solar eclipse. The more than 16.5 stops of light reduction can also yield exposure times of several minutes during daytime where the sun is not actually in the photo. Hoya uses a precise metal vapor deposition process to create the ultra-dark ND effect while maintaining a very neutral color balance for faithful color reproduction at very long exposure times. The PRO ND100000 is available in 4 common filter sizes. If the size is not available to match a particular lens, purchase the next larger size and use an appropriate step-up ring. Step rings are available on our sister website at Kenko USA. Click here to open a new window to that website.

Features:

Caution, Please Read:
The Hoya PRO ND100000 is not suitable eye protection for viewing of sun or solar eclipses. Do not look directly or indirectly into the sun without appropriate eye protection. The ND100000 should be installed in front of the camera lens or telescope before the trying to align it with the sun. Do not use an optical viewfinder when aligning your camera or telescope with the sun. If the camera has a LCD screen with a live-view feature, use that to align it with the sun and for viewing. CA Proposition 65

Attention to all California residents, Proposition 65 or officially known as, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a law that requires warnings be provided to California consumers when they might be exposed to chemicals identified by California as causing cancer or reproductive toxicity. The warnings are intended to help California consumers make informed decisions about their exposures to these chemicals from the products they use. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) administers the Proposition 65 program and publishes the listed chemicals, which includes more than 850 chemicals. August 2016, OEHHA adopted new regulations, to go into effect on August 30, 2018, which changes the information that is required in or on Proposition 65 warnings.

We want you to know and be aware of our product safety and Midwest Photo is taking all of the necessary steps to comply with the applicable safety and health requirements made by this Proposition 65.

WARNING: This product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

This disclaimer can be found on the product pages on our website under the Additional Information tab which appears below the product description. It is listed on all product pages to ensure that our customer is aware of the warnings put out by our suppliers so you can know the precautions before purchasing.
