World acclaimed ultra-telephoto zoom reborn; meet the all-new next generation

The SP 150-600mm G2 (Generation 2) ultra-telephoto lens with upgraded optical performance enables handheld shooting with remarkable definition. This new lens builds upon the success of the current SP 150-600mm (Model A011) which Tamron first introduced in December, 2013, including better overall optical performance and faster AF speed, VC enhancements, plus Fluorine Coating, FLEX ZOOM LOCK and tele converter.

Rebuilt from the ground up to meet Tamron's strict quality standards and design specifications, this new zoom combines smart engineering and high performance with quality craftsmanship, durability and user friendliness.

Enhanced optics meet greater versatility

The SP 150-600mm G2 includes three LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements which completely eliminate axial and transverse chromatic aberrations. It also features upgraded optical construction (21 elements in 13 groups).

Anti-reflection technologies, eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) Coating and BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating improve light transmission and suppress internal reflections, including light reflected off the camera's image sensors. So even when taking a backlit or semi-backlit photograph, ghosting and flare caused by reflected light are fully eliminated.

Additional enhancements expand the lens' versatility. For example, MOD (Minimum Object Distance) has been reduced to 2.2m (86.6 in) so you can enjoy tele-macro photography and dramatic bokeh.

Capture the moment with sharpness and accuracy

The Model A022 is equipped with the USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) ring-type motor that delivers excellent responsiveness and control. AF speed is significantly improved from current model, and it enables accurate high-speed focus even when capturing moving subjects.

When shooting with AF, the Full-time Manual Focus override allows you to instantly make fine focusing adjustments manually, without having to switch between modes.

Keep it steady with improved VC

The VC (Vibration Compensation) effectiveness is equivalent to 4.5 stops, based on image stabilization performance levels established by CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association) when using in VC MODE 3. Model A022 now has three types of VC modes, and it is possible to choose the optimum VC mode according to the situation for taking a photograph, such as when wishing to pan the camera.

The improved VC minimizes blurring caused by slight camera movement, which is prevalent with long telephoto lenses and even more troublesome with higher-resolution cameras. VC enhances the freedom of hand-held shooting at slower shutter speeds required by low-light conditions such as dusk.

VC MODE 1 is the standard mode that strikes a great balance between the stability of the viewfinder image and the stabilization effects.
VC MODE 2 is exclusively used for panning.
VC MODE 3 prioritizes the stabilization of the captured images and forgoes the stabilization of the viewfinder image.

With the optional accessory TAMRON TAP-in Console™, you can custom the configuration of VC MODE 1. Choose the viewfinder view of either Standard or viewfinder image priority.

FLEX ZOOM LOCK mechanism enables zoom lock at any position

FLEX ZOOM LOCK mechanism quickly locks or unlocks the zoom at any position simply by sliding the zoom ring. Photographers can shoot from any angle without the zoom extending unintentionally. Additionally, the customary Zoom Lock switch prevents unwanted barrel extension during transportation.

The pursuit of functional beauty is applied to every aspect of the new ultra-telephoto zoom

This design philosophy in pursuit of functional beauty with a "Human Touch" is applied even to minute details for the SP 150-600mm G2 ultra-telephoto lens as well.

The design includes the front portion of the lens composed of curved surfaces that comfortably fit in the palm of a photographerメs hand, the focus ring and zoom ring with the groove width optimized to improve user-friendliness, the focus limiter switch allowing for easy operation, the easy-to-hold grip compatible with the Arca-Swiss type quick release system, and other features. The lens hood with smooth curves that fit the lens barrel has a design that allows for its easy attachment and removal. While using metal as the exterior material and adding numerous new functions such as the FLEX ZOOM LOCK mechanism, the SP 150-600mm G2 achieves a size and weight making comfortable handheld shooting possible, with a slim and stylish appearance design to top it all off.

Intuitive design plus cutting-edge performance

The new design adopted for the four fixed focal lens models in the SP series already on the market is essentially a fusion of engineering and style, in pursuit of functional beauty and craftsmanship by paying thorough attention to minute details. With metal used as the exterior material, a high-grade design has been created based on the design concept that emphasizes "Human Touch" characteristics, with user-friendliness considerably improved as a result. Those SP models feature a novel design for the switches, easy-to-read characters, an enlarged window over the distance scale, and the adoption of organic forms easy for the photographerメs fingers to hold onto.

CA Proposition 65

Attention to all California residents, Proposition 65 or officially known as, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a law that requires warnings be provided to California consumers when they might be exposed to chemicals identified by California as causing cancer or reproductive toxicity. The warnings are intended to help California consumers make informed decisions about their exposures to these chemicals from the products they use. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) administers the Proposition 65 program and publishes the listed chemicals, which includes more than 850 chemicals. August 2016, OEHHA adopted new regulations, to go into effect on August 30, 2018, which changes the information that is required in or on Proposition 65 warnings.

We want you to know and be aware of our product safety and Midwest Photo is taking all of the necessary steps to comply with the applicable safety and health requirements made by this Proposition 65.

WARNING: This product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
