Writing a quick review of the Interfit Strobies XS Kit
First off, right now it is an incrediable value at $59. I just bought two at $69 :(
Each kit includes the following:
Strobies XS Bracket
7" reflector
Softbox 40 cm x 40 cm (16" x 16")
Bowens Speedring
Lighting stand (COR751) Air damped
The stand cost $43 on amazon and the 750 (1 foot smaller) is $23 at MPEX.
The speedriing is $38
The soft box and reflector are worth $20 minimum
The real value here is the XS Bracket - alone it sells for $45. It holds your strobe horizontally and allows you to use any Bowens S mount modifier with your strobe. Additionally, it has an extra shoe mount on the top where you can put a second strobe or your trigger. If you are using an umbrella, the second strobe can give you more power or faster recharge. You can also use it to bounce a strobe off a wall, ceiling or another modifier.
The XS bracket seems well made with quality metal. The cold shoes are big and easy to adjust. The hole the strobe goes into is big - big enough to get a YN560 with a sto fen on through without a problem.
The soft box is basic but nice. It is well constructed and has an interior diffuser and white sides as opposed to silver.
For me the biggest value is being able to start buying bigger soft boxes, beauty dishes, etc that require a speed ring now knowing I will be able to use them later with monolight. I had previously, accidentally, purchased the XL kit and while it works well and was also a great value, it only works with XL series "pressure grip" soft boxes that top out at 24 x 24. I attached a 32" x 48" Fotodiox softbox to it and it worked great.
I have a feeling the XS may be close to being discontinued. It originally sold for over $120 and has dropped to less than half of that. Some of the parts are worth almost as much as what the kit is selling for.
