Drive the spikes into the ground on location to help keep your stand from falling over.If the spikes don't appeal to you, take them off! Aluminum stand, with 5 sections and 4 risers. Retractable Legs fold in to make it one of the most compact stand of it's height. Top of stand is the standard 5/8" stud with both 3/8" and 1/4" 20 threads. An ideal stand for light weight lighting kits due to its compact design.

A great traveling light stand

This is a terrific light stand. Lightweight, sturdy, compact for transporting, expands to a useful height, and the spikes are great. I was concerned the spikes, at about 3 1/2 inches, wouldn't be long enough to steady the stand outdoors, but I need not have worried, they get the job done. I highly recommend this stand.
