STEWART AND SUSAN POWER'S BIOGRAPHY
Susan & Stewart Powers are wedding photography and environmental portraiture specialists. Together, they own Powers Photography in Gainesville , Fl. Their credentials and awards in wedding album competition are unmatched. Their wedding albums have consistently scored 95 and higher in international competitions; with five perfect 100 scores and the First Place Award at their annual state competition eleven times. They are the only image makers in America to win the WPPI Grand Album Award three times and also have three prestigious Kodak Gallery Elite Awards.
In 2006 the Powers' were honored at the PPA annual convention with the International First Place Portrait album and in 2007 they were both Diamond Photographers of the Year for their Four Loan Collection entries. Many of their recent album awards are in the dual-maker category plus Susan Powers is an accomplished Photoshop retoucher and album designer. She has won multiple First Place awards for her portraiture and the Becker Award for Creativity - Florida 's most prestigious competition honor.
The Powers are internationally renowned for their warm, approachable teaching style. They have taught at 27 state conventions and over 28 PPA affiliate week long schools and classes in Spain , Canada , Puerto Rico , England , Mexico and the Bahamas . Stewart was the first wedding photographer to receive the International Photographic Council Leadership Award at the United Nations. He has been honored with a Fellowship from the American Society of Photographers and is both a PPA affiliate judge and a PPA Approved Photographic Instructor. He received the prestigious PPA National Award in 1994 for his roll as the founder and first director of the Florida School of Professional Photography. Other notable awards include:

Lifelong residents of Gainesville , Fl. Susan and Stewart were friends in high school. They started Powers Photography in 1977. Stewart and Susan both have earned advanced college degrees: Susan a Masters of Building Construction and Stewart a Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) in photography.
