LEARN HOW THE INDUSTRY'S MOST NOTABLE
PHOTOGRAPHERS CREATE THEIR MASTERWORKS
Rangefinder magazine's RF Cookbook series was introduced in 2004 and quickly became one
of the publication's most popular features. Essentially, each article in the series consists of
one amazing photo and a short look at how it was created—a "recipe" for the image.
In this book, Bill Hurter, editor of Rangefinder magazine, shares over one hundred of these
articles. In each chapter, the images and techniques are thematically grouped to provide for
rapid learning and easy cross-reference.
Bill Hurter is the editor of Rangefinder magazine, a monthly publication for professional
photographers. He is the former editor of Petersen’s PhotoGraphic magazine and a graduate of
Brooks Institute of Photography, from which he holds a BFA in professional photography
and an honorary Masters of Science degree. He has been involved in professional photography
for more than twenty-five years.
